MAGGIE (aka "Magnolia," aka "Lemur"): The Good Dog

MaggieMaggie is a Dearborn Animal Shelter dog. Clients would no doubt rate her as a very, very good dog because she is a lover. She loves to be petted and will throw herself on her back so you can rub her tummy. She is gently aggressive in begging for food from lawyers and staff, and usually shares Jim's lunch with him.

Maggie merits only a "good dog" rating because, unfortunately, she has a propensity to poop on the floor. She is always very ashamed when caught, but the scolding does not seem to change her behavior. Where is Cesar the Dog Whisperer when you need him?

P.S. Do not wear a uniform to the office. Maggie has an oppositional defiance disorder which causes her to attack Police Officers, FedEx and UPS delivery people, and, no doubt, dog catchers.

BUNNY: The Bad Dog

Bunny 3Bunny is a rescue dog that was abused by her owner. Consequently, she is somewhat skittish. She is an unusual looking dog, a Mountain Cur/Shar Pei mix.

If you see her in the office, she will be very standoffish. She is more afraid of men, particularly large men, than women. Bunny spends most of her time confined in Maureen's or Jim's office.

The confinement is due to her "bad dog" status. She has bitten three large men - Maureen's father, Jim's neighbor and local attorney Neal Nielsen. No major injuries here, but embarrassing nonetheless.

Bunny is very loyal and affectionate to her owners. She has warmed up to the staff, and it has been five years that she has been coming to the office.

RICO (aka "Rico Pablo Cruz," aka "Baby Rico": The VERY Bad Dog!

Rico and MaggieIf you see this dog at the office run, do not walk, to the nearest exit. Do not let his looks fool you. Certainly he is cute, but he is a devil dog. He is so bad that he is banned from the office except on weekends. That is because he is a serial nipper.

This darling fellow has been known to jump on his momma's kitchen counter and defecate. After that he bathed in her toilet bowl. It is a good thing he is so cute or he would have been sent back to the Dearborn Animal Shelter from whence he came.
