MSP Sued for Sexual Orientation, Gender Discrimination

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – The Michigan State Police are being sued for discriminating against a Michigan State Police Detective by denying her a promotion because of her sexual orientation, gender, and race. The lawsuit alleges Whitfield openly bashes gay people and said they shouldn’t be cops during a presentation. Discrimination attorney James Fett described Whitfield’s conduct during presentation made during a room full of MSP troopers:

Whitfield said, 'he's gay how could he be a police officer, what's he doing'...he kept saying 'he gay, he gay'. He made a spectacle of himself and people are looking at her and she's looking at her shoes. It was humiliating.
